The little rescue with a big heart
Our primary mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving, permanent homes for homeless dogs, specifically dogs in shelters at-risk of euthanasia and dogs whose owners can no longer care for them. We believe in compassionate rescue when the dog is enduring inhumane living conditions or likely to be deemed less adoptable due to age, health, emotional state, or breed. We ensure that all the dogs we take into our rescue, regardless of individual needs, are cared for with love and compassion for the duration of their lives.

Every day, Bruno watches the world pass by from behind shelter bars, quietly hoping that today will be the day someone finally stops⦠and takes a chance on him. Bruno is a truly the best boy. Gentle. Polite. Incredibly sweet with every human he meets. He walks calmly by your side, like he knows just how precious that closeness is. He pays attention to his handler, knows his basic commands, and looks up at you with eyes that say, āI’ll follow you anywhere.ā He’s done well with other dogs at the shelter and seems to be tolerant of cats. This sweet boy never demands attentionābut oh, how he deserves it. Bruno also has an unusual gait. Shelter staff suspect possible ligament or meniscus injuries, but he needs an orthopedic consultation to confirm a diagnosis and determine the best course of treatment. Whatever the ailment, it hasnāt stopped him from being the best good boyābut it has deterred potential adopters. What Bruno really needs is a foster who can give him a safe place to stay while we get him the care he needs to live his best life. Fostering isnāt forever. But it can be life-changingāfor Bruno and for YOU! Weāll pay for EVERYTHING Bruno needs – medical care, food, and all the supplies. You provide the space, the kindness, and the healing touch of a home. Heās been so patient. So brave. Now itās time to get him off that cold, concrete floor and into a warm home. Bruno has waited long enough. Please, consider taking a chance on on this sweet boy. We’re pretty sure Tahoeās new bed has its own zip code. 𤣠Three and a half years ago, a foster opened her home to this sweet senior boy we believed might be fospice. She opened her heart to a soul so burdened by life, he spent most of his first six months with her trying to hideāmaking himself as small and invisible as possible. But dogs are resilient. With love, patience, and unwavering compassion, Tahoe began to heal. He transformed from a dog who wouldnāt step inside to one who now seeks out affection and curls up in a warm bed without fear. #thebiggerthebetter apparently. š We say it often, but it canāt be said enough: fosters change lives. š To learn more about how you can help a dog in need of a second chance visit: www.k9kismet.org

That looks comfy enough for a human to snuggle up in with Tahoe!!!
Thank you Auntie Lisa Karyt Garrett and Auntie Donna! š§”

Adopt
By providing a forever home for a dog in rescue, you're helping to free up a foster home, which allows us to help another dog in need. The dogs in our care are fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered (unless medically waived), microchipped, and receive regular wellness exams, preventative treatment, specialty care as needed. If youāre interested in meeting a K9 Kismet pack member, please fill out the adoption application to begin the process.
