A Different Kind of Foster

Dogs in our rescue who have terminal diagnoses or ongoing medical needs are welcomed into our Forever Foster program. These special foster families provide a loving home while K9 Kismet covers all medical care and supplies.

Together, we ensure each dog can live their remaining days in comfort, dignity, and peace.

On November 1, twelve-year-old Stevie was brought to Long Beach Animal Care Services after being found wandering near Alamitos Beach. No one came looking for her.

At the shelter, she quickly became a favorite. Gentle with both dogs and people, Stevie simply wanted a place to belong.

Because two people said yes, she was able to leave the shelter and enter her Forever Foster home, where she will be cherished every day of her life.

Through our Forever Foster program, Stevie’s family provides the love and stability she deserves, while K9 Kismet covers all of her medical expenses.

Tahoe

Age 10+ • Forever Foster • Joined K9 Kismet in 2021

When we met Tahoe in 2021, he was fearful and unsure, but we knew he belonged with us.

He needed structure, patience, and time. Trust would not come quickly.

At first, he slept outside in the dirt. Slowly, on his own timeline, he came inside. Onto his bed. Into safety.

Today, he remains cautious with new people, but the bond he shares with his foster mom is steady and strong.

Through our Forever Foster program, Tahoe receives lifelong medical care while his foster family provides the stability he needs.
